Cloud application code review
A time-boxed, senior-led review of your application source, configuration, and deployment artefacts to surface blockers before you migrate or re-host in the cloud.
Who this is for
Engineering managers and tech leads responsible for a production system that must move to a new cloud region, provider, or account within the next two quarters. The codebase may be a modular monolith, a small set of services, or a legacy stack with sparse documentation.
Result you receive
A written report (PDF and editable outline) listing findings by severity, mapped to files or components where possible. You also receive a one-hour recorded walkthrough and a live findings workshop with your maintainers.
Scope included
- Read-only access to agreed repositories and infrastructure-as-code folders
- Review of authentication flows, secret handling, and environment configuration
- Assessment of observability hooks, health checks, and graceful shutdown behaviour
- Notes on data access patterns relevant to cloud networking and storage choices
- Prioritised remediation list with effort bands (hours, days, weeks)
Out of scope
- Hands-on refactoring or production deployments on your behalf
- Penetration testing or formal compliance certification
- Unbounded review of third-party binaries without source
Provider and process
Delivered by a CloudGrove principal consultant with prior delivery experience in regulated and high-availability environments. After a signed scope letter and NDA, you grant read access. We schedule a kickoff within three business days.
Timeline
Five consecutive business days once access is confirmed, assuming a codebase up to roughly 150k lines across primary languages. Larger estates are quoted separately.
Delivery mode
Remote by default; on-site kickoff in Cape Town or Johannesburg available at travel cost. Sessions use your preferred video bridge.
Preparation we ask for
Architecture diagram (even if outdated), list of environments, recent incident post-mortems if any, and named contacts for domain-specific questions.
Pricing basis
Fixed fee for the standard five-day review; see rates for the current band. Custom depth (additional languages or repos) is quoted before work starts.
